Experience the art of throwing clay on a pottery wheel with personalized instruction! Whether you're already comfortable centering and pulling walls, or just starting out and learning to throw clay on the wheel, our Beginner/Intermediate Pottery Class is the perfect step forward on your creative journey. For our intermediate students: Explore advanced techniques like throwing closed forms, creating bottles, experimenting with marbling techniques, throwing off the hump, and more! For our beginner students: We'll start with a gentle introduction, guiding you through pottery tools, operating the wheel, wedging clay, centering, and throwing walls. Once you've mastered the basics, we'll help you tackle mugs and bowls. When you're ready, we'll walk you through the glazing process so you can bring your creations to life! Details: • Cost includes one 25lb bag of clay and access to the studio during Open Studio hours throughout the six weeks. • At the end of the six-week course, weekly classes will conclude. You'll have an additional two weeks to finish and refine your pieces. - Basic tools available at the studio - Don't forget to: - Trim your nails short as they will catch the clay - If you have long hair something to hold it back - Comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty but not to loose
